About

Beat Billions is an investment research platform that aims to uncover attractive investment opportunities in small-cap stocks listed on U.S. markets. The outperformance of large-cap stocks since the fallout of the financial crisis has pushed many investors away from small, high-growth companies, and Beat Billions aims to find undercovered stocks that could generate alpha returns in a long-enough time horizon.

Dilantha De Silva

Beat Billions was founded by Dilantha De Silva, an investment professional with 6-years of experience in the financial markets. Dilantha specializes in U.S. equities and incorporates a top-down approach to identify developing macro-level trends and companies which would benefit from such trends.

Dilantha monitors various macro-economic indicators, including but not limited to household credit growth, technological advancements, and broad changes in consumption habits to uncover publicly listed companies that could generate better-than-average returns. To mitigate the risks of investing in equities, he continuously sifts the markets to find companies that exhibit low or negative correlation with other portfolio constituents.

He believes diversification plays a vital role in building an all-weather portfolio. Dilantha focuses on identifying inflection points in global capital markets to reach tactical asset allocation decisions such as which asset classes should be over-weighted and under-weighted. He is a fan of Refinitiv Eikon and most of the data he presents in his articles come directly from Eikon. In addition, he uses several other primary sources for information including the EDGAR database, company presentations, and analyst call transcripts.

He currently works with leading financial publications including Refinitiv, Seeking Alpha, ValueWalk, and GuruFocus to identify investment opportunities that could deliver multi-bagger returns.

Dilantha is a CFA level II candidate and an Associate Member of The Chartered Institute For Securities and Investment.
